Here’s a breakdown of the keywords:
Creative Director
If you want to glue Loay under one umbrella, it would be the “creative director”.
It is true that he started his professional creative career in 2017, but he was obsessed with the fascinating notions of innovation, creativity & semiotics from a very young age.
As any true creative, Loay had to take a strategic innovative tour by jumping through most of the creative field hoops just to steal a taste of each one of them. He intentionally mingled through branding, graphic design, calligraphy, videography, photography, copywriting, social media management, editing, color grading, drawing, typography, UI/UX, advertising, marketing, business management, voiceover, illustration, infographics, 3D and more.
And like a basket full of a healthy variety of exotic fruits, he developed wholesomely into the creative he is now. He worked along the way with brilliant minds & creative souls and he engaged in a plethora of challenges that cultivated his career, refined his craft & polished his mind.
Filmmaker
Loay loves to experiment with his films using unconventional motifs, usually without dialogue (or a very limited dialogue). He is a very firm believer in delivering his messages through philosophical semiotics instead of the traditional continuous excessive dialogue.
He is also known for his risk-taking approaches and trying to come up with very fresh ideas with very different perspectives. This mission is particularly challenging because he actually lives in the Middle East which has generally a relatively lower support for cinema and filmmakers, especially in Bahrain; a not very well known small island in the middle of the sea, where no film school is available and not a huge heritage is being handed to the new generation. In spite of that, cielo’s films usually premiere in Bahrain because he is determined to elevate the cinema movement in his country to a much higher level, and he sees that possible as he spoke in many occasions that Bahrain is a “pool of talented people”
cielo specializes in the drama and thriller genres, but he excels also in injecting situational irony, dry humor and cringe comedy into his films in subtle ways.
Started his career by engaging in a local competition with his very first film “Wezr”, he’s shot it with only a phone and editing it with a an old home computer, and he won an official selection in that competition right away. Later on, he went on to get other selections of many international festivals.
He took it from there and made another film which celebrated the pandemic days from another perspective, which got him into getting a really broader audience and more significant achievements in many festivals. That film was “My Bloody Brother”.
Following those endeavors, he was able to finally start his professional work when he made a very innovative idea that got him to work with the most prestigious productions houses in Bahrain and with the most famous actor in the whole history of the nation; Jamaan Alrowaeie. “In My Shoes” was the real launch of cielo’s filmmaking career as he got a World Premiere at the first edition of Bahrain Film Festival, the official national festival of Kingdom of Bahrain, which gave his the right exposure of professional critics. “In My Shoes” got massively positive reviews from these critics whether locally in Bahrain, in GCC like KSA, regionally and globally.
Consequently, he was able to produce his fourth film, “WAJBA”, after winning the best scenario in Bahrain, and went on to participate around the world with the film.
Directing is cielo’s main cinematic role, but he also wrote most his films and videography commissions, and that is no wonder since his job is originally a creative director. He also have occasional adventures with the acting world, to mention a couple: His leading role of “My Bloody Brother, his cameo in “In My Shoes” and his commander role in “The Ten Sins”.
Creative Writer
Since early childhood, Loay was always fascinated about writing. He was always exceeding the expectations in essays and won awards for his writings.
As a teenager, he worked as a sport journalist in Al-Watan Newspaper, and he was chosen as the manager of the world sports section within just a week!
He never stopped though. In his professional career, he is now an award winning creative writer with many projects signed with his pocket pen, most notably his films, but also other creative projects like Ali Sharaf’s “Shining Stars” campaign.

I mean, any social proof though?
The Arabic idiom goes: “Your testimony is wounded”
In other words, you cannot testify for how awesome you are, since you always see yourself awesome (well, most of us most of the time) but it is socially acceptable if others do it for you. Hence, here we go…
Did you just make up fake testimonials?
I know I can creatively write fake testimonials since I am, well, a creative writer. But I swear I didn’t. Checkout these videos with these guys talking with their moving lips and everything.
I bet those were forced testimonials at gunpoint
